Oaklash's Skills for Nightlife Accelerator Program (O-SNAP!) makes direct and actionable our mission to platform queer artists. By giving our community access to education and resources for engaging professionally in the Bay Area's vibrant nightlife and performance circles we strengthen our systems of support and camaraderie in a time when both are much needed.

The first O-SNAP! cohort focuses on DJs, providing them with the holistic instruction, skills and mentorship necessary to thrive as a creative force in nightlife. Consisting of three (3) work sessions, a public panel discussion, office hours with open decks, and a final showcase, O-SNAP! is designed for queer and trans learners with limited experience behind the decks or producing events. O-SNAP! seeks to transform curiosity and drive into fully realized programming that benefits all queer and trans persons seeking community in the cultural hub of the San Francisco Bay.

Selected participants will receive a $200 stipend, hands-on coaching in events promotion, collaboration, and networking, as well as the practical hard-skills required to become a proficient DJ and events producer. Guided by prominent, experienced instructors representing many sectors of the nightlife industry, the cohort will develop technique and unique sensibility, employing these newly developed skills to produce an original event as a team.
